I decided to organize a weekly creative writing exercise in the office to sharpen the skills of the writing pool. Everyone takes a turn inventing an exercise or a prompt.

The only general rule we've been using is that it should be doable in an hour or so. We've also tried to keep things fun.

Please feel free to share your own exercise efforts by leaving a comment. You can do that at the end of each exercise by clicking on 'Share your own effort'. Enjoy!

Exercise 11 - Tongue Twister

Goal: Incorporate oral, analytical thinking, and writing skills.

Choose one topic from the following:

      - beggar's cellphone

      - my shoes

      - astronaut's pencil

      - biker's penny

Instructions:

      - Create individualized tongue twisters from any of the four topics above.

      - Form it into a diamond-shaped poem with 11 lines.

      - Take note, only 11 linesJ

Enjoy!

My shoes:

My not

So sneaky sneakers

Skid-free soles to spin and swivel

As I squiggle they shriek; as I shuffle they squeal

So, sorry if I skip your slippers for as supposing I say

I shall switch to your sluggish sandals for a day

Since surely they'll be somewhat squeaky

And be simply not as so sneaky

As my singularly special

Though standard

Sneakers
